We, Amy and Louise, started Ruby and Bean because we wanted to provide a range of clothing which not only gave positive messages to all who wore them but also a range of clothing that would suit the demands of an entire family – being able to buy for all the family under one roof was the aim and one that definitely appealed to us!
In order to make your goodies, we use screens to screen print your chosen design on to your chosen garment in your chosen colour with the highest quality environmentally friendly inks! Safe to say you are getting something to treasure and something that will last a long time...so long as you look after it of course x
Our designs start off with simple pen and paper designs ~ we can then mull over them for 2 minutes to 2 months before the final designs are sent away and turned into wonderful screens we can use over and over again. This process guarantees longevity of our makes, something that we take incredibly seriously as the idea of “fast fashion” does not sit well with us.
We want to be a forward thinking brand and are currently trying to marry this with more environmentally friendly techniques and products. We have recently made the brave decision to use organic/recycled fabric on all children's hoodies and tees and adult sweaters and tees!
Packaging is limited to ensure we don’t contribute further to the worlds plastic problem – plus one of our kids would soon tell us if we caused plastic pollution to the worlds oceans!.
One thing we are proud of is that through our business we have been to able to support important charities including Hospice at Home West Cumbria, Bliss and PTWMs work with women’s aid.
Our two chosen charities for this year are Worldwide Cancer Research and Kidney Research UK - check out our Charity Collection to learn more!
